Area Overview
Worthy Down is located approximately 5 miles from the historic city of Winchester. Army Training Regiment (Winchester) is situated approximately 1 mile from Worthy Down on the Winchester road. Winchester has excellent road and rail links, it is 1 hour by rail to London Waterloo. Southampton, Basingstoke and Portsmouth are all within easy travelling distance, each has excellent shopping facilities. Winchester also has loads of nice bars and pubs so fairly lively at night, 2 nightclubs (that I know of) one of which, I believe its called the Porthouse?? is very much a sticky carpeted hell hole!

Winchester lies on the main line from Southampton to London Waterloo and the Midlands.

There are excellent connections to and from most parts of the Country. There is a direct line through Southampton Parkway, which serves Southampton International Airport
Nearest Airport
The nearest Airport is Southampton (Eastleigh). There are daily flights from Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and the Channel Islands, with regular scheduled services to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, and Newcastle. There is easy access to the M3 and Rail Network. London Heathrow (50 miles) and London Gatwick (72 miles) have good road and rail links, with journey times of between 1 and 2 hours to Winchester.
Going by Ferry
The nearest ports are Southampton (25 min.) and Portsmouth (45 min.). The Channel Tunnel and Kent ports are 2 -3 hours drive using the Motorway network

Worthy Down camp is surrounded by fields and woods and as such is lovely for you doggy types, loads of walks away from roads!

The gymnasium is managed by the (QMSI) PT APTC, along with AGC PTIs. All are knowledgeable and approachable to all gymnasium users.
The gymnasium complex is an extremely busy department and boasts excellent facilities and equipment. The complex is split into three main areas:
The Main Hall: The hall has a wooden sprung floor and markings for all indoor sports.
Two Weight Training Rooms: These areas are well used at lunch times and after work. They house a multigym, a selection of free weights and various weights machines.
The Fitness Room: Probably the most popular and well used facility by individuals on the station.
It is extremely well equipped with Concept II rowers, Techno gym bikes, Steppers and an excellent treadmill. There is also a variety of weight training machines. This facility also has a comprehensive audio visual system with a variety of music and TV channels to accommodate all tastes
Shopping and Tourism
Just for one eminent RPer (she knows who she is) Tesco down near the A34/M3 junction is open 24hrs and is therefore the ideal place to buy chocolate at any time of day!
