Area Overview
Warminster is a small market town set between Salisbury and Bath. The main employers are the MOD and Center Parcs on the Longleat Estate. The town has a large park with a boating lake. A children's play area, a small paddling pool for use in the summer months, a skate board park and tennis courts. Warminster has a sports centre with swimming pool, which also holds activities for children and adults. Longleat Safari Park is only 4 miles from the SFA.

The Garrison has two Pre-schools and one Creche. One Pre-school and Crèche is housed in the Community Centre the other in a house in the Officers area but is used by all. The Community Centre also holds different activities in the evening to suit everyone.
The AFF Training Centre is opposite the Community Centre. The 6 AEC, in Battlesbury Bks, can be used by dependants.
Transport and Travel
There is a good public bus service from the Spar shop into the town, and public buses to Trowbridge, Bath and Salisbury. Warminster has its own train station, which is on the Bristol to Portsmouth line. Trips to Bath, Salisbury and London are more affordable when using a Railcard, which can be obtained from your RAO.
Pets
Medical and Dental
Medical Centre in the Land Warfare Centre can be used by Single Service Personnel, Serving Personnel and dependants. The dentist is for serving personnel use only. Civilian doctors and dentists are available but you will probably be on waiting lists for NHS dentists as most have gone private.
Sports and Leisure
A gymnasium in both camps (dependants must have insurance before using the Gym). Hairdresser, Spar shops, Bars can be found in both camps.
Shopping and Tourism
There is a large Morrisons supermarket within the town centre and a small Iceland. Lidl also have a large store near the SFA. Nearest ASDA is Trowbridge or Frome. Sainsburys is in Frome, and a large TESCO in Trowbridge.
