Area Overview
RM Poole is in Hamworthy, which lies within the Borough and Town of Poole. Poole is situated on the shores of the second largest natural harbour in the world. While still operated as a commercial port, Poole is also a major centre for recreational sailing being ideally located centrally along the south coast of England and has some of the finest beaches on the south coast making it an idea holiday destination and place to live.
Children and Education
Schools in the SFA area are Hamworthy First School & Nursery (3-8 years), Hamworthy Middle School (8-12 years) and Carter Community Sports College (12-16 years) all are within walking distance.
There are 2 Grammar Schools (Single Sex) and a High School which has an Expressly Academic Class, these schools are on a bus route. Poole has 3 Special Schools and 1 School for children with Specific Learning Difficulties. There are a number of Local Independent Schools.
Bournemouth and Poole College offers post-16 options and courses for mature students. Bournemouth University offers postgraduate study, lifelong learning, part time courses and flexible learning.
Transport and Travel
The closest railway station is on Turlin Moor a 10-15 minute walk from the Top SFA. There is a further railway station in Poole town centre (Poole – London approx 2hrs 15mins).
There is a good network of buses in the Poole, Bournemouth area supplemented by a new service, Route One. Route One is designed for easy access around central Poole and for a small fare you can hop off and on as many times as you like in a day, with up to 2 children under 15 going free.

RM Poole provides excellent facilities, which include a fully equipped gymnasium & fitness suite, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, squash courts, tennis courts and football pitches.
Shopping and Tourism
There are a number of small corner shops in Hamworthy. Tesco, Asda & Sainsbury are all located in Poole. For those in Walcheren Place and Napier Road, Rockley Park Caravan Site has a small but well stocked shop. There is also a small shop on the Unit. The Dolphin Centre in Poole has many well know high street stores with a further shopping area which is pedestrianised. The Old Town High Street provides more specialised shopping. Bournemouth the next closest town has a wide range of shops.
Castlepoint Shopping Centre is a large out of town complex close to Bournemouth which has 40 stores and restaurants and is on a main bus route.
