The Leuchars area includes military facilities at the following locations:

There are several areas of married quarters at RAF Leuchars. The main estate is within walking distance; of the station and accommodates airmen’s housing and the officers’ quarters. Officer’s quarters are located on Hunter Crescent, & Beaufort Close. Beaufort Crescent has been set aside for Sergeants and above. Airmen’s quarters are located at Hampden Close, Warwick Close, Meteor Row, Javelin Crescent, Nicholls Estate and Baker Place.
Area Overview
RAF Leuchars is in a rural location seven miles from Historic St Andrews and seven miles from the city of Dundee. Both offer a good range of shops and facilities including theatres, cinema and sporting venues. Edinburgh and Glasgow can be reached easily by road and rail and the highlands of Scotland are only a couple hours drive-away. There is plenty to do for all the family you will never be short of something to do.
Children and Education
Leuchars has a very well attended Primary School and nursery school, there are also Primary Schools in Guardbridge and Balmullo and some children attend the Roman Catholic Primary School in St Andrews.
There are activities for the children scouts, cubs, beavers, brownies, rainbows, parents & toddlers, gym-tots and we have Bright Horizons, the Day-care centre with playgroup sessions, casual day-care and full-time Day-care provision, and before and after school club.
Transport and Travel
Leuchars has a station that is on the main line and rail services are excellent. Buses are also frequent running to Dundee and St Andrews.

Medical and Dental
Medical and Dental provision for serving personnel is on camp. Dependants can opt to see the medical staff on camp or use the surgery in the village. NHS dental provision is limited in our area.
Sports and Leisure
The Station has an excellent gym which has a five a side football pitch, badminton and basketball courts, free weights and aerobic machines. The gym has sun bed facilities. There are 4 squash courts, Astroturf and the sports pitches have their own pavilion.
Shopping and Tourism
There is a Spar shop, butchers, post office and newsagent in the village and there is a shop called Amigo on the domestic site. They sell groceries, sandwiches, newspapers and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The Station also has a hairdresser, thrift shop, learning centre and usual mess facilities along with the Delta facility which houses the bowling alley, soft play area, restaurant.
