The Chepstow area includes military facilities at the following locations:
and the main married quarter areas are ALL situated in Beachley. There are 195 SFA in total spread over three different estates. The allocation of SFA is dealt with by DE Ops (Housing) Allocations .
Area Overview
Beachley Barracks is well equipped with a large education centre, a gymnasium and a library. At the centre of the camp is the former cookhouse, now re-built and providing a multiuse facility including dining hall, NAAFI shop, Junior Ranks and NCO Mess, Hairdressers, plus an IT Suite. The Wyvern Estate is home to the UWO, Little Scamps Pre-school and Nursery and the Coffee Pot cafe.

Transport and Travel
A bus service currently runs from the Barracks to the Sedbury schools. Buses run into Chepstow from outside the UWO almost every hour on weekdays and until 1330 on a Saturday.
Trains run from Chepstow station and there is a selection of taxi companies locally.

Medical and Dental
The nearest doctor’s surgery and pharmacy is in Sedbury, a number of others are available in the area.
The nearest hospital is the Royal Gwent situated in Newport, 16 miles away. There are some dentists in Chepstow taking NHS patients.

Approximately 2 miles from camp is Sedbury, this contains a Spar, Chemist, Hairdressers and take away. Chepstow town has a large Tesco; a local bus service runs from outside the UWO to Tescos.
The historic walled border town and ancient Port of Chepstow commands the entrance to the Lower Wye Valley in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The ruins of Chepstow Castle sit on the cliffs over the River Wye; building commenced the year after the Battle of Hastings in 1067 by the Normans.
Within the local area you can find a full range of amenities including shopping, sport and places of interest.
