Area Overview

The Royal school of Military Engineering Minley (RSME Minley) is located at Gibraltar Barracks on the A327 and is about 3 minutes from Junction 4a of the M3. The nearest train stations are Fleet where there are frequent trains to London and the South West and Blackwater which serves Gatwick and Reading.

Local amenities are ample with family attractions, leisure centres, shopping centres, cinemas, theatres, sporting venues and supermarkets all within easy access. Larger towns such as Basingstoke and Reading all have excellent wide ranging choices of shopping centres, restaurants and leisure facilities and are easily accessed by road and rail.

Transport and Travel

Camberley train station is a short walk from the town centre. It currently doesn't have any direct trains to London but a change at Ascot is the norm. The town centre is well served by bus services. The main bus station (such as it is) is on the main road beside the train station.

Medical and Dental

If not entitled to use the facilities on camp there are plenty of Dental and Medical Practises which are currently taking new registrations - for the up to date information check the NHS website.

Sports and Leisure

There is a large sports centre at Owlsmoor, another on the A30 a short distance from the main gate of the RMA.

There is a smallish cinema in The Atrium, which is a newish addition to the town centre, along with the cinema this building houses several chain restaurants, Nando's, Chiquito, Frankie and Bennys, a Chinese Buffet and a couple of others.

Shopping and Tourism

Camberley town centre has the typical high street shops, nothing outstandingly thrilling but The Mall is nice enough.

Jobs and Recruitment Agencies

The usual agencies operate in the area, Reed have an office in Camberley town centre and the Job Centre is directly opposite the main gates to the RMA.
