Area Overview
The A303 runs along side Andover, making it easy to reach places such as Basingstoke, London, and Reading as well as Southampton, Bournemouth and Exeter. The village of Amesbury is situated 16 miles from Andover and just outside Amesbury are the recognised World Heritage sites of Stonehenge and Woodhenge.
Headquarters Land Forces is the major unit now based in Marlborough Lines and is situated on the West outskirts of the town. It is only a short drive from Middle Wallop (15 minutes) and the Tidworth and Bulford Garrison (20-30 minutes).
Andover has a wide range of facilities both within the town centre as well as in the business park on the outskirts. They include stores such as ASDA, Sainsbury’s, LIDL and a large Tesco, Homebase, Halfords, The Range, several Petrol Stations, Post Office, Banks, 4 screen Reel Cinema, Hairdressers and Barbers. There are several nurseries, crèches, primary schools and secondary schools to choose from.
Children and Education
Andover has many primary and secondary schools as well as establishments for further education and two Boarding Schools.
Transport and Travel
The main bus station is located in the town centre next to the Chantry Centre shopping mall. A regular bus service is running from Andover to Salisbury (incl Tidworth) as well as Winchester and Basingstoke.
There is also a train station which gives a direct route into London (1hr20Mins).

Medical and Dental
Serving personnel have their Medical and Dental care provided at the medical Centre in Middle Wallop. Dependants are able to join any of the local civilian practices.
Sports and Leisure
Andover has a wide range of clubs and societies for those of a sporting nature. The local area includes the River Test, one of the finest trout rivers in the country and several other rivers of note.

Shopping and Tourism
There is a large Sainsbury’s superstore as well as a large ASDA with a 4 Screen Cinema Complex. You will also find all the major banks, clothing stores, travel agents, employment agencies, job centre & agencies, shoe shop, chemists, newsagents, bakers, hairdressers and barbers, sports shop, as well as a DIY store. Andover retail park next to the town centre comprises of a Tesco superstore (with petrol station), Next, Homebase, Halfords, Wicks, The Range and Brentano. Andover is close to Basingstoke by car or train. Basingstoke has a large shopping Centre called Festival Place including retail parks, cinemas and leisure complex.
