Area Overview
Weeton Barracks is set in the countryside of Lancashire, just of junction 3 of the M55, 1mile from Weeton village and only 8 miles from the busy tourist town of Blackpool. Weeton Barracks at this present time is home to the 1st Battalion the Royal Green Jackets and the Kings Division Normandy Band who are stationed here permanently.
The Barracks are divided into two parts. One being the actual Camp with only authorized access, which houses living accommodation for single and unaccompanied soldiers, messes, NAAFI/Junior Ranks Club, gym, ALC and of course all working departments. The other half housing the married quarters, Primary School, Crèche, Pre-School, Spar Shop with Post Office and Cash Machine, Families Complex, Medical and Dental Centre (for serving personnel only), the Community Centre.

The famous tourist town of Blackpool with a great many attractions like the Pleasure Beach is only about 8 miles from Camp. Here you can find everything, a good day out shopping strolling through the shopping streets or Centre, a fabulous day out for the whole family with lots of attractions to choose from or a brilliant night out with a vast number of pubs, clubs, theatre, 3 piers etc.
Kirkham – Supermarket, High Street Shops, small market Poulton-Le-Fylde – Supermarket, 2 small indoor shopping centres, more shops outside centres. Blackpool – Indoor shopping centres, vast variety of shops, markets, number of retail parks. Preston – Indoor shopping centres, vast variety of shops, markets.
