RAF Leeming is situated just off the A1, 50 miles north of York and 25 miles south of Darlington. Leeming is the nearest village and has a small shop and Post Office. The nearest market town is Bedale, situated 5 miles away. It has a quaint town centre with various pubs and restaurants, a leisure centre with swimming pool and fitness suite, banks, library, dentist, Post Office, secondary school, a non-vocational college, supermarket and vets. The popular market town of Northallerton is 13 miles away with a larger selection of shops and supermarkets, job centre, a 6th Form College, launderette, dry cleaning, cobblers and car dealers.
